Since I was a kid I always was interested in different religions and thought that I could be of any faith if I wished to be but recently I discovered not everyone thinks so. Indian muslims are now considered fake muslims or not true muslims same with Buddhists and Christians this is because the Hindus believe because these people of different faiths have hindu ancestry they can’t be truly of any other religion or belief system. They believe religion lies in blood but it really lies in one’s heart and can change if the person wishes to change it. Religion is a matter of belief and having faith a true or a real Muslim is someone who practices Islam that’s it, any kind of ancestry is completely irrelevant and those who consider it relevant have a flawed logic and an insecure belief system.This is one of the reasons they call it ‘ghar wapasi’ when someone converts to Hinduism because they inherently believe converting to be a dirty thing this is also the case with some other religions like ‘reverting to Christianity ‘. All of these words don’t do anything but tell me that the people have an insecure faith which is why they need to impose it on everyone to feel superior.I still wonder when these people will realise that religion is simply a matter of belief and every person has a right to choose a different belief system.The fact that such flawed logic is still relevant in our society forces me to wonder if we even have the right to religion.
