In a recent statement, Pakistan’s Army chief brought up the old Two-Nation Theory again, saying Pakistanis are “different from Hindus.” He pointed to deep-rooted cultural, religious, and historical differences, calling them the reason Pakistan came into being. It’s a throwback to a long-standing divide, and while it stirs up some old emotions, it seems aimed at reinforcing national unity duriing tough times.
