India is currently running one of its largest anti-Maoist operations along the Chhattisgarh-Telangana-Maharashtra border. Launched on April 22, 2025, the operation involves over 10,000 security personnel, including CRPF, local police, and special forces, targeting Maoist strongholds in the dense, difficult terrain of Karregutta, Nadimpalli, and Pujari Kanker. By April 26, six Maoists have been killed, with reports suggesting more casualties as operations continue. The forces are facing heavy resistance, including IEDs and ambushes. A soldier was injured but is stable. Despite calls for peace talks, the government remains firm on continuing the operation.
