India is growing fast in every field — tech, economy, global influence. But our Indian Air Force (IAF) is facing one of its biggest challenges since independence.
Right now, the IAF has only 31 fighter squadrons — the lowest since 1963. We need at least 42 squadrons to defend against threats from both China and Pakistan. That gap is a serious risk.
What’s going wrong?
Old aircraft like MiG-21s are still flying, even though they’re unsafe and outdated.
Indigenous jets like Tejas took decades to develop — and we still aren’t producing them fast enough.
We depend too much on foreign aircraft, like Rafale and Su-30, which are expensive and slow to deliver.
Bureaucracy and delays stop fast decisions and hurt our defense planning.
Why should we care?
Because a strong Air Force isn’t just about war — it’s about safety, strength, and respect. The IAF protects our skies, our borders, and our future.
What needs to change?
Speed up ‘Make in India’ projects like Tejas and AMCA.
Retire old jets safely.
Invest in new tech and fast production.
Support our Air Force with smarter planning and faster decisions.
Our Air Force deserves more than respect — it deserves real support.
Let’s be the generation that cares not just about trends, but about our nation’s security.
Jai Hind.
