In a recent CNN interview, Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif, faced scrutiny over his claim that the Pakistan Air Force shot down five Indian Air Force (IAF) jets during the recent escalation with India. When pressed for evidence, Asif responded, “It’s all over social media, on Indian social media, not our social media. The debris of these jets fell into Kashmir. And it’s all over Indian media today and they have admitted” .
This reliance on social media as proof has drawn criticism, with observers pointing out the lack of concrete evidence to support such significant claims. The situation underscores the challenges in verifying information during times of heightened tensions and the importance of transparent communication from official sources.
