Amid intensifying military tensions between India and Pakistan, security agencies have issued a drone attack alert in Chandigarh, placing the Union Territory and surrounding regions on high surveillance. At the same time, Bihar has been placed on high alert due to potential sleeper cell activity and cross-border terror threats.
The alert in Chandigarh came after intelligence inputs suggested that Pakistan-based terror groups may attempt drone-based incursions, targeting military and civilian infrastructure in North India. Anti-drone units and air defense systems in Punjab, Haryana, and Jammu have been activated.
Bihar Tightens Security Amid National Threat Matrix
In Bihar, key urban centers including Patna, Gaya, and Muzaffarpur have seen enhanced security deployment, especially around railway stations, government offices, and religious sites. Sources in Indian intelligence agencies suggest that Pakistan’s ISI may be attempting to activate sleeper cells in eastern states to divert India’s internal security attention.
“We are not taking any chances. All security and intelligence branches have been mobilized, and vigilance is at its peak,” a senior Home Ministry official told the press.
Operation Sindoor Continues
These alerts come as India continues Operation Sindoor, a multi-pronged counter-terror mission launched in response to the April 22nd Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. As of now, multiple Pakistani military posts and suspected terror hideouts have been destroyed in cross-border strikes, while airspace violations and drone warfare risks remain high.
India Prepared, Public Alerted
With both strategic zones and civilian regions now under heightened alert, authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Drone sightings near border areas and military installations are being taken extremely seriously.
