Amid rising speculation and viral social media chatter, top Indian defence sources have confirmed that the Indian Navy has not launched any attack on Karachi. The clarification comes after rumours surfaced from Pakistani media outlets claiming missile strikes or naval activity near the Karachi coast.
“There has been no naval operation targeting Karachi. The Indian Navy is fully alert and operating within Indian territorial waters,” a senior official from the Ministry of Defence told Bharat Global Time.
These false claims appear to be part of a Pakistani misinformation campaign aimed at diverting public attention from internal turmoil in Balochistan, where the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has reportedly taken control of key areas, including parts of Quetta.
India Focused on Strategic Defence, Not Provocation
While Operation Sindoor — India’s surgical strike operation against terror infrastructure in PoK and Pakistan — continues to make headlines, the Indian armed forces maintain that their actions are measured, precise, and defensive in nature.
“We are not interested in escalation. But any misadventure will be met with a strong and proportionate response,” an Indian Navy spokesperson stated.
The Indian Navy, including INS Vikrant now armed with BrahMos missiles, remains deployed and vigilant in the Arabian Sea, but no offensive action against Karachi has been carried out.
