In a major breakthrough under Operation Sindoor, Indian forces have successfully neutralized a key Pakistani air defence radar installation located near Lahore, according to high-level defence sources.
The strike was carried out as part of India’s ongoing pre-emptive strategy to dismantle terrorist launchpads and supporting military infrastructure across the border. The radar site, reportedly used to monitor Indian aerial activity along the Punjab sector, was completely disabled in a targeted strike involving precision-guided munitions.
Strategic Advantage for Indian Airspace Operations
By knocking out this radar system, India has gained critical air superiority in the western theatre. Defence experts believe the destruction of the radar site will significantly weaken Pakistan’s early warning and aerial defence capabilities, especially around Lahore — a key military and logistical hub.
“The radar’s removal gives our Air Force greater freedom of movement and reduces Pakistan’s ability to monitor Indian aerial operations in real-time,” a retired IAF Air Marshal told Bharat Global Time.
This move comes after a wave of successful strikes across Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot, where alleged terror infrastructure was taken out. The Indian government maintains that all operations are limited, targeted, and in direct response to cross-border terrorism — especially after the Pahalgam attack on April 22.
