This whole mess comes right when tensions between India and Pakistan were already boiling over, especially after that deadly militant attack in Pahalgam. India’s blaming Pakistan for backing the attackers and, in response, even suspended the Indus Waters Treaty. Pakistan, of course, is denying everything and accusing India of causing this water chaos instead.
